Everytime I read about some CEO, some place, getting a huge bonus, or a golden parachute payment after he has wrecked financial havoc on a company ,I want to wretch. Even though I may not personally know the CEO involved I can't get past knowing that somewhere, in that company, the CEO, and his board, have screwed over their employees. Someone won't be getting a much needed raise. Someone will lose their job.
It would be nice to know that type of shitty behavior only happens in big companies. But it doesn't. Greedy Bastards are everywhere. They come in all colors and shapes. They come from all socio-economic backgrounds and political persuasions.
I work for some Greedy Bastards. They call themselves "Progressives." Sad that there isn't anything progressive about someone when they financially shit on their employees.
I get that it is their "firm" and that their name is on the front door. But they didn't build the firm by themselves. At the end of each fiscal year they raid the coffers. They take out every dime that isn't currently being used. They leave no cash for future payrolls or basic financial needs of the firm. They buy new houses, upgrade their kitchens, send their children to the priciest private schools and buy new cars. They take lavish vacations. They want their staff to work harder to replenish the bank account so that the staff can be paid.
Crazy, huh?
Their employees are told there isn't enough money to give out promised quarterly bonuses. They are told there isn't enough money for raises. Inflation keeps going up, the economy continues its downward tank and we work harder than ever without financial reward.
This is insanity.
